Based in Dallas, Texas, 12 Oaks was founded by the late Charles C. Blaylock in 1983. Drawing on his experience as a single family, multi-family and nursing home developer, dating back to 1962, Blaylock saw the need for congregate senior living outside the established institutional settings.

Richard K. Blaylock, Owner, Director and President of 12 Oaks, brings with him a wealth of experience regarding all aspects of real estate. Mr. Blaylock is a 1981 graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and with Certificates of Real Estate and Real Estate Finance & Mortgage Banking. While at SMU, he made his way from a walk-on to a starting position for the football team, earning three varsity letters, as well as one varsity letter as a freshman for track.
After graduation, he assumed a full-time position in Commercial Real Estate Brokerage with Dallas-based Sherwood Blount & Company. He left Blount & Company in 1987 for the opportunity to work with his father at 12 Oaks.
As President of 12 Oaks, Dick’s activities include new business development, finance, acquisition, and oversight of the management team.
Claremont Retirement Management Services (“CRMS”) is an operator and developer of senior living communities in California, Colorado and Montana. CRMS is dedicated to successfully managing the development and operations of health care and rehabilitation centers, retirement communities, and other services for seniors.
With over 65 years of combined industry experience, the principles as CRMS have a proven track record of successfully implementing their mission statement.
CRMS provides a number of services to prospective clients. These services include: (1) evaluation of an existing market in terms of location, market size potential and levels of care offered; (2) creating a financial model for the project determining development, construction and operational costs; (3) conduct a marketing analysis of the project using focus groups to develop pricing strategies and marketing campaigns; (4) assist in employee staffing and training at the facility, providing ongoing in-service training; (5) provide a dietary analysis that include menu studies and food evaluation; (6) a comprehensive activities program; and (7) a caregiver training program.
